Hannah, Great Job at the State Bee! We were praying for you to do well and the Lord granted those prayers. Second place shows that you have a gift for spelling and have been studying very hard. Blessings to you from the family of Lydia Wassink. I am sure Lydia will want to send her own message.

Ran into the Knautz's at Old Country Buffet tonight. Tommy frequently asks about Karl, and wonders how he is and if Karl might still remember him. So sorry about Phil's mom. Liz had told us about her medical problems at Christmas. What comfort to know that she is now in glory!

Hello Mr. Rehberger!! This is Melissa Jacobs...My name is actually Melissa Cheatham now! Do you remember a Melissa Jacobs? Well I was in your 5-8th grade class at Mt. Calvary a long time ago. You were the greatest teacher, always genuinely cared about every student! You don’t run into teachers like you very often. I’m still living in Redding, recently married...3 years out of high school now…just going to Shasta College for the time being. I still want to be a teacher just like I always have.

I've been searching for people lately that I haven't seen in years. You can find almost anything or anyone online! I searched your name on Google and quickly found this site. Your family is growing up!! Claire is beautiful. Your whole family is beautiful!

Anyway, just wanted to say hello!

God bless, Melissa

Hi Becca:
How 'bout another entry in "Becca's Blog?" Something like "Reflections on Bee Week in Washington?" We'd like to hear your thoughts - at least I would. I still have people asking me about how you did - in several states! Texas, Tennesee, California...to name a few. :-) As I said before your experience at Bee Week will be a positive force for you the rest of your life. What a neat thing in your young life!
Love you!

Becca,
Excellent job!! You have been blessed to make it that far. We are very proud of your accomplishment! We didn't get to see you on TV(we still don't have cable), but we were tracking you all the way. Hope you had a good time visiting our National Capitol. Keep up the good work and God bless you.

Hey Becca - Amelia, Adam, Grandma (Charlene) and I watched you today on ESPN - we were all yelling and cheering when we saw you come up to the microphone. We commented to each other on how nerve-wracking it must have been to have all of those cameras going off and to be under such pressure. It was such a thrill to see someone we knew on TV!!! I still can't believe how difficult all of the words were - so fascinating to hear about their origins! It was a great learning experience for all of us. Thanks for inviting us to be a part of this, in a virtual way. :) Enjoy the rest of your week and safe travels home!

Congratulations Becca!

We watched you today after Aunt Grace let us know that you were going to be on ESPN.

What a thrill to watch Molly, Chip, and Natalie's cousin on TV!

We hope that you and the whole family enjoyed your experience to the spelling bee!

Becca, there were tears in my eyes as I watched you come forward to the microphone today. I want to say "thank you" so much for the excitement, anticipation, and special blessing this adventure has been. You gave so many people who love you a chance to cheer you on and to be a part of a great event. I am so grateful just to have been an outside observer in your journey. I think Molly's classroom was watching today, too. I hope that you have a chance to feel very special for what you have been allowed to accomplish. I am still amazed that you made it almost all the way through that big word! I would have been lost after the first letter. You gave it your all and you really handled that word well.

(I also noticed you were wearing your "Juliana" necklace. :-)

Becca, we're so proud of you to have gone so far in such a tough challenge. Thanks for all the fun.

Love,
Aunt Grace

Watched Rebecca on TV this morning and was pulling for her all the way. She pulled a real hard word--and came so so close!! We are proud of her that she made it to the semi-finals. A real tribute to all of her hard work and studying. So relax now Becca and enjoy the time left in Washington. We are all so proud of what you accomplished this week at the "bee."

Safe travels back to SD. Love to all

Just wanted to wish Rebecca good luck in the spelling bee in Washington next week. Our prayers will be with her and whatever God choses to happen--will indeed take place. What an opportunity for the family to participate in and to be able to "tag along" for the event. Do have a wonderful time --and as Rebecca said, what happens--happens and it isn't the end of the world if she doesn't make it to the top. Just enjoy the family time together--be thinking of "ya-all" and we will be following the results on the internet, etc. Have a great time everybody and soak in what Washington has to offer. Safe travels!! We send our love from the mountains-------------(dedication day just a little over a week away now!!)

We all enjoyed looking over one computer reading your letter and looking at the pictures. A reminder of all the great memories we had while you were here. So happy for all of you that you are doing well. We knew you'd like it there! Glad to see "Gollum" made the ornament box for your tree this year! We wish you God's blessings for 2006.

Glad to see that you are all adjusting well to your new 'home'. Thanks for the card. I enjoyed hearing some more details about your new life in South Dakota. I also liked your 'Top Ten' - great job! Take care and God bless your family in South Dakota.

Nice "card", Phil. I'm glad that you are archiving the E-votions because I still get cryptic messages from you with them about 1/3-1/2 the time. Maybe I should just view them here now that I know where your handy dandy site is. Take care!
